'A large portion of my work is self-portraiture, where I stand both behind and in front of the camera. Often I will work with people close to me in my life, the process of creating these images with the people who are part of my support system is just as much the art as are the final photographs. The self-portrait experience, both alone and in collaboration, is a freeing and nurturing time where judgment is abandoned.'
